The North Sea Jazz Festival hosts an annual poster design competition for students of the Willem de Kooning Academy.

My concept, titled Jazzy Jellyfish, was inspired by the idea that a jellyfish, with its graceful and fluid movement, perfectly symbolizes both the ‘North Sea’ and the free-flowing nature of jazz music. The organic, squiggly lines of the jellyfish seemed to dance like jazz melodies in the water.

Although my poster and shirt design didn’t make it into the top 10, I’m proud of my design.
